Friday The 13th Part 7 (1988)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: John Carl Buechler

Starring:
Lar Park Lincoln/Tina
Kevin Spirtas/Nick
Susan Blu/Mrs. Shepard
Terry Kiser/Dr. Crews

Plot:
Tina dreams of the time when she believes she drowned her father with her anger triggered psychic powers. A trip back to the site is supposed to help Tina, but her doctor merely wants to exploit her. In a rage, she accidentally frees Jason from the bottom of the lake with her powers, and he begins to slaughter the teens next door. Tina becomes able to control her telekinesis in her fear state and gives a strong showing against Jason.

Acting:
The acting in this movie was ok, Lar Park Lincoln(Tina) was ok as the crazy girl, Kevin Spirtas(Nick) was just there and didn’t add a lot to the main guy role, Terry Kiser(Dr. Crews) played a good asshole and you wanted to see this guy get killed off, the under cast was a lot better and added some good humor to the flick.

Gore:
Holy shit there was a lot of killing going on in this flick, we get a guy drowned, a spike to the throat and back, a hand punched through a guys back, a girl beat against a tree, axes to the face, some off screen stuff, a head crushed, a whistle to the eye, a knife to the stomach, machete to the neck, girl thrown out a window, a girl stabbed in the back, a saw to the stomach, someone set on fire, and gunshots.

T & A:
We get 2 breast shots here.

Directing:
John does a pretty nice job with his camera work, we get some cool zoom shots and some standard first person shots that are cool.

Soundtrack:
The score was pretty well done, but after part 5 I thought the score started to go downhill.

Final thoughts:
I remember as a kid I hated this Friday flick but the older I got the more I enjoy it, its not the best one of the series but it’s ok. The cast is alright but like I said before the supporting cast made this watch able, and we get a lot kills, but not a lot of gore and I didn’t care for the mind powers shit, just seems a bit out of place for the series. I would say give this a rent if you enjoy the rest of series. I give it a 7/10.
