The Evilmaker (2000)
Review by Jeff

Directed by: John Bowker

Starring:
Stephanie Beaton/Serena
Felicia Pandolfi/Rachel
Arlene Henry/Cindy
Dori Schwartz/Tyler

Plot:
Serena returns home after escaping an abusive relationship to spend time with three of her friends from high school. A weekend at the beach seems like an ideal way to relax and relive the old days until their car breaks down near an abandoned house. What starts out as a creepy night turns into three days of hell as they experience terror around every corner while they fight to survive The Evilmaker!

Acting:
The acting in this movie is good and bad, Stephanie Beaton(Serena) was pretty good at times but most of the time all the focus was but on her boobs, Felicia Pandolfi(Rachel) was good as the gothic tarot card reader, but she played the role great and was very believable, the other 2 girls didn’t really add a lot to the film, they were just there.

Gore:
I was really let down by the lack of gore, all the kills were off screen so all you get is some blood splash here and there, pretty lame if you ask me.

T & A:
We get 2 pairs here, like I said before Stephanie likes to show them off.

Directing:
Where do I start with this, well it’s very low budget and it shows we don’t get any good camera shots, the film just looks very amateurish and not well done.

Soundtrack:
The score is really well done and to me is a little to good for the film, we also get some cheesy rock music here and there that doesn’t really fit with the movie.

Final thoughts:
The Evilmaker is one of those independent films that really shows in a bad way, it was very slow till the last 30 minutes of the movie and then they have so many plot turns and just makes the film a mess to watch. With the lack of plot, and not much to the gore this is a pretty boring movie to watch, oh and the strobe light effect get old fast and they are way over used here. I give it a 4/10.
