Diary Of The Dead (2007)
Review by Jeff Hudson

Directed by: George A. Romero
Starring:
Joshua Close/Jason
Michelle Morgan/Debra
Scott Wentworth/Maxwell
Joe Dinicol/Eliot
Plot:
A group of film students are making an independent horror film when they become trapped in a world being consumed by flesh-eating zombies. They then turn their attention toward making the film into a documentary on their personal horror experiences.
Acting:
The acting in this flick was pretty good for the most part, there were some cheesy stuff but nothing to make the movie bad. Joshua Close(Jason) was behind the camera most of the movie but did a nice job, Michelle Morgan(Debra) was good and gave some good emotion when needed, Scott Wentworth(Maxwell) was the man and gave some great character and humor to the film.
Gore:
The gore wasn’t overdone which was nice and looked real good, we get lots of gunshots, flesh eating, defibrillator paddles to the head, stabbing, zombies blown up, acid to the head, arrows to head, and some sword action.
T & A:
None of that stuff here and I didn’t even think about it.
Directing:
George redeems himself here with a great zombie flick, the first person camera shots are awesome and give some great scares and make you feel on edge a lot, and we get some real sweet effects.
Soundtrack:
The score was real chilling, and it was cool they explain how they put the score on the footage so it doesn’t seem like a fake film.
Final thoughts:
Diary Of The Dead really impressed me after the let down of Land Of The Dead, even though the homemade video footage thing is getting big this movie really delivers and George really knows how to use it for the best. With a good fresh cast, great special effects, and a killer plot that really hits home with things I would say this is a must see for any zombie movie fans. I give it a 8/10.
