Cemetery Man (1994)
Review by Jeff
Directed by: Michele Soavi
Starring:
Rupert Everett/Francesco
François Hadji-Lazaro/Gnaghi
Anna Falchi/She
Plot:
This movie is based on a novel of Tiziano Sclavi, and it always reflects the "sclavian philosophy" diffused by the most successful comics in Italy: Dylan Dog, the detective of the nightmare. There is the duality between love and dead (in Italian "dellamore" means "of love" and "dellamorte" means "of death"), a duality that Dellamorte feels in a really hard way. He is the guardian of the cemetery of Buffalora, a little town in the north of Italy, in which, we don't know why, corpses rise from tombs and Dellamorte has to destroy them. Dellamorte seems not to ask to himself why this happen, he shoots and loves. But at the end he wants to leave Buffalora.
Acting:
Rupert Everett(Francesco) was spot on in this movie, he played a rather dull character but he was great, François Hadji-Lazaro(Gnaghi) was pretty funny in a sweet way they made you kind of feel bad for the guy, and Anna Falchi(She) didn’t add a lot to the movie they just casted her for the movie cause of her looks.
Gore:
Holy shit this movie is a splatter fest we get tons of gunshots, some biting action, spades to the head, a cross through the head, bodies ran over this is great, a head bashed in, and a head ripped off, lots and lots of blood is shed here.
T & A:
We get one pair here and they were nice, the ladies get a butt shot.
Directing:
The movie was shot real good with some amazing camera shots, the movie just had a cool feel to it, it felt very different.
Soundtrack:
The soundtrack was cool it put you into the mood of the film.
Final thoughts:
This was a odd movie a lot different than I thought it would be, it had some great gore scenes and was a fun movie to watch, the only part I didn’t really care for was how grim the ending of this movie is, but I wont spoil anything. I give it a 7/10.
